Bulgaria Pays Off Six Loans To Ebrd Ahead Of Terms 26/03/2008
On Tuesday, March 25 was realized operation on paying off six loans to European Bank for Reconstructions and Development (EBRD) ahead of term. The loans were on the amount of 266,9 million EUR and $12,8 million, along with the due interests, reported from the Finance Ministry. Similar transactions of paying loans to the EBRD were accomplished in the first half of 2006 and in the beginning of 2006. The paying ahead of term was realized counting the prognosis for execution of the state budget in 2008 and the level of the fiscal reserve. Kroushouna Village To Invest 28 Million Leva In Recreational Facilities 15/03/2008
Local authorities would invest 28 million leva in the construction of a spa centre and three recreational centres in the village of Kroushouna, in Lovech region in northern Bulgaria, the mayor of Letnitsa municipality Krassimir Djonev said, as quoted by expert.bg. The village of Kroushouna has become a popular alternative tourism destination with the Vodopada (Waterfall) cave, which resembles a water labyrinth, just 800m south of the village. The area has an abundance of mineral water springs that have not been really used, Djonev said. Letnitsa municipality, of which the village is a part of, and Lovech-based holding company Litex Commerce, owned by businessman Grisha Ganchev, would set up a joint venture that would carry out the project. Defence Ministry Official Sacked Over Real Estate Deals - Sophia Echo 09/05/2008
Petar Pandourski was dismissed from his post as head of Defence Ministry's state property executive agency, the ministry's press service said on May 8 2008. The reason why Defence Minister Nikolai Tsonev had decided to sack Pandourski was because he did not carry out Tsonev's order to halt deals involving swapping real estate owned by the ministry, the statement read. Pandourski will be replaced by Krassimira Goranova, current head of the ministry's administration agency. Pandourski is the first "victim" of Tsonev's checks into the ministry's activity.
