Doctors Garden Area Offers Most Expensive Property In Bulgarias Capital

Residential property registered the most dynamic development among all sectors in the Bulgarian real estate market, a Colliers International report for the first half of 2006 shows.

The apartments offered for sale in Ivan Vazov district have become the second most expensive after real estate located in the area of Doctor's Garden. Rental rates remain almost unchanged, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.

According to the report sales prices are also beginning to stabilise and the increase registered over the first six months of the year was marginal.

Average prices of one-bedroom apartments registered decrease in some districts.

The central area of the city close to Doctor's Garden holds some of the most expensive property in Sofia. Average prices there reached 1700 euro a sq m. Ivan Vazov became the second most expensive district, where average prices reached 1325 euro a sq m.

Lozenets' property was the third most expensive. The average cost there reached 980 euro a sq m, the Colliers report said.

Most property seekers look for two-bedroom apartments, maintaining the tendency for the middle market segment to be most active.
