11 billion BGN in the Bulgarian economy from tourism

Around 11 billion leva per year generate the tourist industry in the Bulgarian economy. The data is from the World Tourism Association and include in addition to the direct product, also the accompanying activities in the industry.

This said the Deputy Minister of economy, energy and tourism Branimir Botev.
In his words, Bulgaria has a unique concentration of products on a small territory.

"Bulgarian hotels are above average in Europe and we have very well trained personnel. We have the highest concentration of thermal mineral waters. We have an amazing cultural and historical heritage", said the Deputy Minister.

He pointed out that our problem is a lack of a quality brand. Easier would be if Bulgaria offers only sea and mountain.
“But we have so many things that people can not perceive us," he added. The Deputy Minister predicts strong summer season.

With about 12% more are issued visas for tourists from Belarus.
It is agreed Slovakia to issue Schengen visas, as 80% of the Belarusians reach Bulgaria with cars or buses. The goal is to pass through Hungary and Slovakia bypassing Ukraine. This explains the growth of issued visas, noted the Deputy Minister.
