Less Construction Permits Isssued In Bulgaria

In the fourth quarter of 2008 local administrations have issued constructions permits to 2 452 residential buildings with 12 881 apartments in them and with 1 741 125 square meters unfolded built-up area (UBA), to 100 administrative buildings with respectively 110 584 square meters UBA and to 1 530 other buildings with 1 275 203 square meters UBA.Compared to the previous quarter the number of issued residential building permits decreases by 10.6%, the apartments in them - by 2.3%, at the same time the total built-up area increases by 5.9%.Administrative buildings are 20.6% less and the decrease of UBA is 18.7%, while the other buildings mark an increase by 5.0% and respectively their area increases by 12%.This is data published by the National Statistics Institute, cited by Money.bgCompared to the same period in 2007 the issued permits for construction of new residential buildings are 15% less, while the apartments in them - 33.6% less. A decrease has been registered in administrative buildings as well - by 31% and other types of buildings - by nearly 5%.In the fourth quarter of 2008 the tendency for a significant number of permits for construction of new residential buildings to be issued in the bigger administrative, resort and productions centers is kept, in the municipalities: Burgas - 407, Vena - 290, Sofia - 278, Plovdiv - 253 and Sofia (city) - 232, as the apartments in Burgas are 2 632, in Plovdiv - 2 332, in Varna - 1673 and in Sofia (city) - 1502.
