Fdi In Bulgaria Hits 5.7b Euro In 2007

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Bulgaria reached 5.7 billion euro in 2007, Bulgarian Investment Agency said. Bulgarian investments in the economy in the same period were 15.5 billion leva, the equivalent of 7.9 billion euro, according to the Bulgarian National Bank data.

Britons were the top investors in Bulgaria in 2007, focusing mainly on real estates. Dutch investors were next and then Austria, Belgium and Greece.

The sectors that were the main targets of investors in 2007 were construction and real estate, amounting to around 60 per cent of the total.
