British and Irish sell their homes in Bulgaria

The secondary market for holiday homes in our country is stronger now and is mainly driven by Russian buyers and British sellers

British and Irish are again the main players in the Bulgarian market for vacation properties, but this time they are on the side of the sellers.

The British where those, who invested in cheap properties under construction years ago. Now they are moving the secondary market for holiday homes in the country, that is currently leading the entire segment now.

The main buyers of second homes in Bulgaria are Russians.They prefer properties located in the south part of the Black sea. Now they are turning also to properties located in the mountain resorts, as well as rural houses on the northern coast.

In the first six months of 2012 there was around 17% growth in bargains for holiday properties on the Black

The average price for the holiday properties until the end of July 2012 was around 750 euro / sq.m.

The interest in mountain resorts is growing primarily because of the lower prices (the average price is around € 710 / sq.m). The most preferred mountain resorts are Bansko, Borovets and Dobrinishte.

Experts indicate that customers are looking for furnished properties in closed complexes operating facilities. The most preferred holiday homes are small one-bedroom apartments or studios with an area of 40-50 square meters.

Nowadays customers don`t insist on the first line properties. The communications and the infrastructure of the resorts is organized well enough, so they can easily reach to every spot.

The market for holiday homes in Bulgaria have not recovered completely yet from the crisis. The constructions works now are entirely concentrated on the southern coast, mainly in Sveti Vlas and Sunny Beach.
