Buildings account for 37 per cent of overall energy consumption. In fact, buildings and transport collectively emit 50 per cent of overall green emissions, participants in the Building Green CEE: Energy Efficient and Ecological Design for the Region conference concluded at the opening panel on April 23. The two-day conference, ending on April 24, is taking place in Bucharest, Romania. Participants agreed that constructing "green" buildings is an essential element of an overall strategy to reduce growing energy consumption and greenhouse emissions, both identified as the main drivers of climate change. Mall Stara Zagora To Cost 72m Euro, Open Doors In 2010 27/05/2008
Real Estate Services Bulgaria, developer of retail complexes Mall of Sofia, Mall Plovdiv and Mall Rousse, announced plans to build a fourth retail-entertainment complex in Stara Zagora, RESB said in a statement. RESB will be partnering with food processing company Gradus-1 OOD, one of the leading companies on the Bulgarian poultry market. The 72 million euro project was showcased on May 27 in Stara Zagora to city officials, among them mayor of the town Svetlin Tanchev. The mall is scheduled to open doors in 2010. Bulgarian small and medium enterprises promotion agency (BSMEPA) and the Association of small and medium enterprises in Portugal (APME – Portugal) will sign a cooperation agreement at the Bulgarian ministry of economy and energy. The two sides under this agreement will be partners in the field of development of the small and medium enterprises. The agreement includes also obligations for exchange of business information. The two sides will further cooperate in the organization of events beneficial to the small and medium enterprises. more

Sofia mayor Boyko Borissov and the head of the State Agency for Youth and Sports (SAYS) Vessela Lecheva discussed the construction of new amusement and sports complexes in Sofia, Bulgarian language daily Standart reported on March 20. A new amusement park, similar to the former Sofialand, will open  doors near Sofia’s Zapaden Park (West park), the capital’s chief architect Petar Dikov told Standart daily. Sofia city hall will invite a concession for the garden near Zapaden Park in the coming months. The place is very appropriate for a new amusement park, because there is no car traffic nearby, Dikov commented. The local CBA Asset Management, a supermarket operator, earned a profit of 1.4 million leva in 2007, according to the consolidated financial report of the company filed with the Bulgarian stock exchange. The report reflects last year's performance of three subsidiary companies of the same name based in Veliko Turnovo, Rousse and Gabrovo, Dnevnik Daily reported on March 4. The recent share capital increase and the purchase of several stores provided a solid boost to asset growth and its own capital, shows the financial report. Operating income was reported at 44.8 million leva, up 35 per cent year-on-year.
