Property Secrets said that demand for housing in the capital city Sofia is currently outstripping the existing level of supply. The organisation has stated that this is partly because people from rural areas are increasingly opting to move to the city. Construction Site Of Trakia Highway Starts In September 03/06/2008
The Ministers of Regional Development Asen Gagauzov and the Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski will enter on Thursday, June 5 a suggestion for covering money for this year for the construction of Trakia highway. According to Gagauzov's conception the sources should be taken from the structural fund and should be announced a procedure for tasking of the three leads between Stara Zagora and Karnobat. 120 Foreign Banks Eye Bulgarian Market 24/05/2008
The number of foreign banks interested in the Bulgarian market has reached 120, informed the Dnevnik a.m. Since 2008 started, 28 new entries were made in the list. According to Bulgarian Central Bank the information doesn't mean that the banks will necessary start doing business in Bulgaria. The Dnevnik also reported that the list includes powerhouses like Credit Suisse, ABM AMRO, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. The single passport rule allows EU-registered banks to operate in any of the community markets without the need to apply for a local banking licence. more

Greek Company To Invest Nearly 100 Million Euro In Tourism Complex Near Bulgarias Samokov 12/03/2008
Icon Ltd, a daughter company of the Greek GEK Group, plans to invest in the construction of a tourism centre near the Bulgarian mountain resort of Samokov. The project envisions the construction of a spa hotel, mini golf course, a trade centre and trade street, sports fields, petrol station, swimming pool, tennis courts, apartment houses and carting track, investor.bg reported. In three years the company will invest 72 million euro. The total investment in the complete project could reach 108 million euro. The complex will cover an area of 166 000 sq m in the region Pashenitsa that Icon bought from Samokov municipality in July 2007 for 37.5 million leva. New Complex To Offer 900 New Residential Units In Bulgarias Capital 12/03/2008
On March 15 the construction of a new residential complex will be launched in Bulgaria’s capital of Sofia. Residential Park will be built on 235 000 sq m and upon completion will feature more than 900 residential units, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported. Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov will attend the March 15 ceremony together with Bavarian minister of economics, transportation and technology Erwin Huber. German Lindner Holding is investor in the project. The complex will be of closed type and will be located in the southern part of Sofia, in proximity to Vitosha Mountain.
