King Sturge, the international real estate advisory, is surveying opportunities for entering the Bulgarian market, company officials told investor.bg. Preparations are still at a very early stage, with set plans and a detailed strategy yet to be clarified, company representatives said, adding that they had not decided whether to step directly onto the market or to penetrate through a local partner. The decision is to be made over the next several months. “We will definitely need local expertise,” Liz Agar, European human resources manager at King Sturge, said, noting that it would prompt the employment of specialists familiar with Bulgarian market. Razlog Will Boast A 12 Million Leva Sports Hall 28/03/2008
A new sports hall, seating 3 500 people, will be built in Pazlog, Dnevnik daily reported on March 27. The municipality has already prepared the project and, according to preliminary calculations, investment will come to 12 million leva, half of which will be sought under international financing schemes.   Construction of the multi-purpose facility, accommodating competitions from different sports disciplines, could start before the end of the year. However, it is not yet clear whether the hall will be built on the site of an existing building or elsewhere. more

Plot Prices Higher In Bulgarias Sofia And Varna 14/03/2008
Intense construction in Sofia led to a deficit in free plots, which in turn affected prices, an imoti.investor.bg report said. As a result of this phenomenon the price of land increased faster than the price of property, the report said. In some Sofia districts like Banishora, Boyana and Lozenets construction plots increased in value by as much as 18 per cent. High investor interest in these districts hiked the prices. Bulgarian and Western companies have launched a number of property projects in these residential districts. Central Sofia witnessed a price increase of 11 per cent.
