Bulgaria To Get 100 Million Eur Yearly From Business Tourism 14/07/2008
Bulgaria could earn round 100 million USD yearly from congress tourism, the Bulgarian MEP Biliana Raeva considers. According to Raeva words the congress tourism is one of the most successful tourist branches and our country should stake more on this sphere. A business tourist leaves few times more money than the ordinary one by his visit to a concrete country. Round 400, 000 people have visited Bulgaria for business in 2006. Minimal drop in the amount of this kind of tourists is marked in 2007, but for the first 5 months of the present year, the branch marks raise of 16,6%. Hotel Construction Violations Examined In Bulgarias Bansko 13/03/2008
Starting March 19 the Directorate for National Construction Control (DNCC) will launch a series of inspections concerning hotel construction in the winter resort of Bansko. The first inspection phase will last until March 28 and will target hotels under construction and the ones set up from 2004 to 2006, mediapool.bg reported. For that period, Bansko municipality issued more than 400 hotel construction permits. In case all plans are followed these hotels will have the capacity to accommodate 30 000 people. Inspectors will examine plans and the manner in which construction works were carried out. DNCC will also check if a company is supervising construction works and whether all safety requirements are met. Results from the first inspection will be announced on April 6. more

Cba Asset Management Opens Veliko Turnovo Hypermarket 28/03/2008
The first hypermarket of the CBA Asset Management chain in Veliko Turnovo opened its doors on March 27 in Retail Park Veliko Turnovo, company officials told investor.bg. Technomarket, Danish homeware retailer JYSK and a number of other retail chains opened their outlets in the shopping centre on the same day. Investment in the hypermarket exceeds two million leva. The shop has 10 cash-register terminals and an own 80-car indoor parking. It will employ 80 people. The retail unit will be managed by CBA Asset Management's subsidiary in Veliko Turnovo, which has 15 supermarkets in the area, generating 44.7 million leva in operating revenue and a net profit of 1.4 million leva in 2007. Sofias Radisson Hotel Put For Sale Report 14/03/2008
Interhotel Grand Hotel Sofia, the company controlled by Henry Gwyn-Jones, is negotiating the sale of the 136-room Radisson SAS Grand Hotel, one of the six five-star hotels in Sofia, Dnevnik daily reported on March 6. Both foreign and local prospective buyers were interested in the hotel, the daily claimed. Gwyn-Jones refused to comment. Contacted by Pari Daily, Fernando Gruenberg Stern, general manager of Radisson SAS Grand Hotel, said that such talks are commonplace and could not influence the quality of services, provided by the hotel. One of the possible buyers, local businessman Georgi Gergov, confirmed for Dnevnik that he had been interested in the property at one point, but was not anymore.
