Bulgaria could earn round 100 million USD yearly from congress tourism, the Bulgarian MEP Biliana Raeva considers. According to Raeva words the congress tourism is one of the most successful tourist branches and our country should stake more on this sphere. A business tourist leaves few times more money than the ordinary one by his visit to a concrete country. Round 400, 000 people have visited Bulgaria for business in 2006. Minimal drop in the amount of this kind of tourists is marked in 2007, but for the first 5 months of the present year, the branch marks raise of 16,6%. Old Buildings Torn Down Near Razlog, More Construction Planned 04/09/2008
The demolition of 130 old, run-down buildings in a former industrial zone of 68.8 ha began near the city of Razlog, Stroitelsvo Gradut weekly has reported.Two production factories, which have been idle for more than five years, are also being pulled down. It has been said that the remaining construction waste will be recycled, and parts of it will be re-used for road construction. The cleaning process is not expected to take more than six months.The new owner, Pirinland Investments, has still not announced ideas for future development, and according to Stroitelstvo Gradut, the land plot is within 300m from a planned first-class golf course in the village of Dolno Draglishte. Three candidates are vying to execute repair works on ministerial buildings, Investor.bg reported on April 25. The candidates have applied for participation under the Ministry of State Administration and Administrative Reform’s (MSAAR) public order “Repairs, constructions and installations works in buildings, holiday and recreational bases, developments and farms in Bulgaria”. The firms are as follows: Elitstroy 2005 EOOD, EKSA AD and the consortium BKK-Terakom, MSAAR said. Banya Golf and SPA Resort Jsc (BGSR), controlled by Bulgaria’s energy tycoon Hristo Kovachki, has recently deposited its full contribution due to the joint enterprise with Karlovo municipality, which will realise Banya golf resort project, Nikolai Petkov, chairman of Karlovo municipal council, said, as quoted by expert.bg. This means that construction of the ambitious enterprise, which would comprise golf courses and vacation villages, can start within a month. Kovachki’s private company was chosen among others to develop the project because its bid was the highest, promising a 60 million euro investment.
