Families Head To Traditional Tourist Hotspots

Rental investors could find high demand for their services in mainland Europe this summer.

According to a poll by MyChild.co.uk, about two-thirds of parents in the UK are planning to take their children abroad with them during the school holidays.

Research showed that Spain was the clear favourite among this group, although France was also found to be rated highly.

This suggests that owners of rental accommodation in family-friendly tourist destinations could be set to see considerable demand this summer.

MyChild.co.uk also revealed that ongoing economic problems such as the credit crunch are not putting consumers off foreign travel.

Denise Roberts, resource manager at the group, commented: "Families are increasingly seeing the family holiday break as a necessity rather than a luxury."

This comes after Reuters cited official figures showing that during the first quarter of the year, Spain attracted 10.6 million holidaymakers.
