Sofia will not be raising taxes next year

The Sofia Municipality will not raise taxes next year, announced in front of reporters today the temporarily managing mayor Minko Gerdzhikov, quoted by BTA. He was asked to comment on the approved by the government amendments to the Law on local taxes and fees to raise the maximum threshold for property tax and tax consideration deals. The proposed amendments to the Law on local taxes and fees should be in upper limits for determining the amount of property tax of 2 prom ills per thousand to 2,5 prom ills per thousand, while the tax on the acquisition of property - from 2.6% to 3%. The increase of the maximum rate allows municipalities wishing to adjust their tax rates next year, as according to the Law on local taxes and charges this becomes after a decision from the municipal council.
