Only Five Per Cent Of Coastal Constructions In Bulgaia Illegal Minister

Bulgarian National Assembly will vote on second reading coastal construction regulations.

Regional Development and Public Works Deputy Minister Savin Kovachev said that only five per cent of the construction on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast was illegal. Ten to 15 per cent of the illegal buildings had already been torn down.

Buildings constructed under the old law would not be demolished, Kovachev said as quoted by Darik Radio.

The draft law defines the territory of Bulgaria's Black Sea coast and beach and the powers of the local authorities.

Regulations would also guarantee free public access to the coast and environment protection, Darik said.
