Bulgaria, the only Eastern European country in which the British still want to buy property

Surprisingly Bulgaria is the only Eastern European country present in a representative survey of the most preferred places by the British for buying real estate properties.

According to a new study of the real estate company Rightmove, cited by the Bulgarian National Radio, Britons who plan to buy property abroad are more likely to head towards Spain, and not traditionally towards France, despite the financial crisis problems in Spain.

Data shows that 51% of those investors planning to buy abroad intend to remain British citizens, where one-third of them plan to emigrate for the sake of a better life and 13% of them just wish to invest in real estate. The key factors for buying abroad are the nicer weather conditions, the life with less stress, less expenses and a better place to start a family.

Although Spain is the country which the British will most likely choose for buying a home or making an investment, France is still a favorite place for emigration. Bulgaria is the only East European country that falls in the top ten list. Bulgaria occupies the tenth place in the list of numbers of Britons who have emigrated there and fifth in the ranking of real estate investments.
