Bulgaria remains among the ten most desirable destinations for buying a second home in June

The foreign demand for holiday properties in Bulgaria in June remains relatively stable. Our country remains in the top 10 of the most desirable destinations included in the TheMoveChannel.com online portal ranking, moving one place up to the 9th position due to the slight increase in queries made through the portal and the dropping of other Countries of the first ten.

The United States remains at the top of the ranking with 9.65% of queries. Spain is the second with 7.34%.

Italy ranks third in June, climbing five places ahead, collecting 2.66% of inquiries. The country enters the top five for the third time this year, becoming increasingly popular among foreign property buyers for prices.

Dan Johnson, the director of the newspaper, says property prices in Italy have been steadily declining since the financial crisis. In recent years, it has attracted interest in the country despite its continuing economic problems, all the more so that, according to Eurostat, prices have stabilized at the end of 2016. This means that the market has found the bottom and probably will soon recover.

Because of price hikes, Italy is attractive to British buyers who have less money amid the fall in the pound exchange rate after the Brexit referendum. The country is also interesting for US buyers who are trying to take advantage of the strong dollar.

Portugal also entered the top five, ranking fourth with just over 2% of inquiries.

The fifth position is for France.

The top 10 is complemented by Canada, Cyprus, Cape Verde, Bulgaria and Greece.

The United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and Indonesia are among the top ten.

The strongest drop in the rankings marks Brazil - 13 positions down to 35th place.

Mexico, Slovenia and the United Arab Emirates lose 10 places, while Thailand, Sri Lanka, Morocco and Russia - in 9 places.

The strongest jump in June marks the Philippines - 19 positions to 24th place.
