Agricultural land in Romania is over 2 times more expensive than in Bulgarian

The average price of agricultural land in Romania is nearly 2.4 times higher than the land in Bulgaria, according the latest database report from a leading consulting company.

The results of the study show that the land in Romania had an average price of 797 per sq.m compared to 334 leva per sq.m in Bulgaria.

According to data of the Bulgarian Association of owners of land (BAALO), the price of agricultural land at the end of 2011, however was 407 - 410 leva and it was again cheaper than the land in Romania.

More expensive than Bulgaria is the land in the Czech Republic - 496 leva. per sq.m, Hungary (612 leva. ) and Poland (901 leva. ).

The most expensive EU farmland is in the Netherlands, where the average price is over 10,000 lev per sq.m. In Ireland and Denmark it is 4,743 and 4,176 leva.

In the the top 5 most expensive lands are also UK and Spain, where the prices are 3529 and 2549 leva.

Cheaper than Bulgaria are fields in Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Slovakia.

The cheapest land in the world is in Ghana, where the average price is around 16 lev per sq.m.
