Dobrich is a town in northeastern Bulgaria and the administrative centre of Dobrich Province. Dobrich is the eighth most populated town in Bulgaria, being the centre of the historical region of Southern Dobruja, and is located 30 km west of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, not far from resorts such as Albena, Balchik, and Golden Sands. The Dobrich region is well developed economically in the fields of industry, construction, agriculture, trade and tourism. Some of Bulgaria`s largest companies in the food processing, clothing and footwear, car battery and high voltage equipment industries are based here, partly because of the region`s highly skilled workforce. The temperate continental climate, with its mild winters and hot summers, the flat terrain and ferrite black soil makes the region perfect for agriculture. It is famous for its grain production. One hundred kilometers of Black Sea coastline is within the Dobrich region. A number of resorts have been built, the most famous of which is Albena which offers a particularly high standards of facilities and services. There are also several spas.
