The temperate continental climate, with its mild winters and hot summers, the flat terrain and ferrite black soil makes the region perfect for agriculture. It is famous for its grain production. One hundred kilometers of Black Sea coastline is within the Dobrich region. A number of resorts have been built, the most famous of which is Albena which offers a particularly high standards of facilities and services. There are also several spas.
