The village lies 2 km north of the main road Sofia - Burgas, 14 km northwest from the mineral resort Pavel Banya, 63 km northwest from the district town of Stara Zagora and 168 km east of Sofia.

The village is at the foot of Stara Planina mountain, right next to the National Park "Central Balkan". It is a starting point of the most attractive mountain trails in the area. Not far from the village are the two famous landmarks - Praskaloto and Tarnichensko waterfall.

In the village there is an elementary school, a kindergarten and community center. There are a lot of shops, several guest houses and taverns offering traditional Bulgarian cuisine.
