Bulgaria To Take Part In A High Speed Railway Network In Se Europe

The government confirmed the earlier signed agreement for construction of a high speed railway network in Southeast Europe.The document provides for the construction a high quality and high speed network from rail roads for passengers' and cargo transport, which will include 16 railways.The Bulgarian routs are included in five of the railways and pass through Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Varna, Burgas, Gorna Oriahovitza, Vidin and Ruse.The agreement encompasses the railways in Southeastern Europe, which are high quality enough to be included in the high speed railway network.These are the railways from the Trans European network, Pan-European corridors or the Southeastern railways, on which the projected speed is 160km/h in the period till 2020.At some section the speed is expected to reach 220km/h.
