The Government stands behind the project for the second lift in Bansko

The State supports the construction of a second lift in Bansko. The Deputy Prime Minister Daniela Bobeva and the Deputy Minister of economy and energy Branimir Botev have assured the representatives of tourist industry in Razlog, Bansko and Dobrinishte, that the Government supports the construction of the second cubicle, and it will be built.

Bobeva and Botev have commented that ski tourism has huge potential for development. Both are cited assessments of foreign experts, according to which Bulgaria has the opportunity to meet four times more tourists in the ski resorts - up to 1.5 million people per year.

Bulgaria is in fourth place among the most popular ski destinations in the European Union.

Bansko municipality wants to amend the management plan for the park in conjunction with the expansion of the ski area during the administration of the Government of Boyko Borisov. In February the Supreme Environmental Expert Council approved the construction of new facilities, but has restricted the construction on territories which are within the tourist area.
