Sunny Beach is the cheapest resort for the Britons

Bulgaria is the cheapest destination for summer holiday for Brits, and Sorrento in Italy is the most expensive, this reports a British newspaper “Daily Telegraph”.

The British, who are looking for cheap vacations are advised to turn to Bulgaria. Prices fell in two-thirds of the European resorts, but the strong pound means Britons will spend even less money.

The study found that in Sunny Beach a package of ten things, such as dinners and drinks cost only 43 pounds. In the Italian resorts, tourists will have to pay over twice as much for the same package – £ 101 and 102 respectively pounds in Tuscany and Sorrento. This turns them into the most expensive destinations for Britons for second consecutive year.

Prices have continued to fall on an annual basis in countries that seek to recover from the recession. The largest decrease was registered in Paphos, Cyprus, where prices have decreased by 21 percent in the past 12 months, followed by Menorca in the Balearic Islands.

Since 2009, when the economic crisis began, prices have decreased by nearly 40% in Costa del Sol, Spain, and by 35% in the Algarve in Portugal and Costa Blanca in Spain. Marmaris in Turkey is the second cheapest destination with holiday package for 54 pounds.
