Sofia enters in the Top 10 of the cheapest cities in the world for tourists, according to a ranking of the world's largest travel portals. According to this statistic, our capital is ranked eighth. A hotel room is around 74.08 pounds, average, cocktails for two are around £ 26.18, dinner for two - £ 29.94, travel by taxi - 2.18 pounds. The first three places are occupied by low-priced Asian cities - Hanoi, Pekin and Bangkok. In the Vietnam capital, all four of these services will come around 89.93 pounds. In Pekin, the average "tourist basket" is £ 101.37. The bronze medal belongs to another exotic Asian city - Bangkok. In Thailand the same services will be offered for 103.38 pounds.

The only city which is in the first fifth that is not Asian is the Hungarian capital- Budapest. It ranks immediately after the top three with 123.32 pounds traveling expenses. The next five cities are: Kuala Lumpur - £ 123.86 6. Warsaw - 127.30 7. Taipei - £ 129.70 8. Sofia - £ 132.38 9. Jakarta - £ 136.02 10. Tunis - 138.19 pounds.

The list shows that many Asian cities, with some European, as Warsaw and Sofia are really affordable for tourists.

On the opposite side - the prize for the most expensive city is won by London. Anyone wishing to visit the capital needs to prepare at least 330.45 pounds.

The first third are also Oslo - £ 319.62 and Zurich - 310.06. The rest of the top ten is dominated by European capitals: Paris / 4 place - £ 306.76 / Stockholm / 5 - 302.46 / Moscow / 7 - 274.17 / Copenhagen / 8 - 272.51 /. Only three cities outside Europe find their place in the ratings: New York / 6 - 290.89 / Sydney / 9 - 250.04 / Singapore / 10 - 238.96 /.

To compile the index, we compared the prices for night going out in the different capitals of the most popular tourist countries. The calculation includes the price per room per night in a four star hotel, two trips in a taxi, two cocktails in the bar and dinner in a restaurant.
