According to tourism branch data, Borovets was the most expensive resort for a vacation in the 2007/2008 season, followed by Bansko and Pamporovo. Vacation in the Chepelare resort was far less expensive.

Bansko, however, was the most visited resort during the season. The hotels in the resort were ‘a hit’ among Bulgarian and foreign skiers, said.

As a result, the ski ticket prices were unlikely to drop even towards the end of the season. Ski tickets were most expensive in Bansko, with a day ticket costing 50 leva, said.

Hotel occupancy in the Bulgarian winter resorts, since the beginning of the winter season in December, was 80 per cent on average.

The 2007/2008 season was expected to be better than the 2006/2007 in terms of number of tourists and income.
