People from Varna will fight to preserve one of the most beautiful places in the city,The Seaside Park

Locals are preparing series of protests against the construction of the sea garden, announced Slavena Panayotova, a representative of the citizens' initiative that fights against the growing development of the green area.

She recalled that in early April a petition against the construction in Seaside Park, supported by nearly 10 thousand people was presented to the Regional Governor of Varna Dancho Simeonov.According to Panayotova, Simeonov has not taken necessary measures to repeal the decision of the municipal council which gives permission for construction in areas of the park.

She explained that an expert committee from the Ministry of Culture Park decided to divide the park into two parts. The first covers the so-called. "Historic core" whose ownership was transferred from the Government to the Municipality of Varna.In this part the any construction is prohibited.In the other however, the constructions would be allowed.

According to the town planning part of the walkways have to become streets as a part of residential development. The main traffic towards the sea path will be organized in a multi-lane road between the restaurant "Horizont" and the zoo.

According to locals there is a ban for cars entering the park, but it is widely violated. There are incidents with cars and pedestrians, and green areas are used for parking, said Mrs.Panayotova.

The city plan of Varna also provides some very large building "spots" in the area around the Dolphinarium, the Zoo and the polygon under "Rest Stop".

The problem with building in the Sea Garden in Varna stands has been standing for years, but locals will not give up to fight to preserve the beautiful park.
