There are shops, bars and restaurants in the village and these can also be found in abundance in Kyustendil, along with its very welcoming tree-lined, traffic-free centre and the many other attractions it has to offer, such as its famous hot springs and numerous historical sights, including the ancient Roman baths.

The climate in the area makes Kyustendil a year round resort, with an average summer daytime temperature of 27oC and an annual duration of 2200 hours sunshine. There are many activities available within the area, such as fishing, a lake is close to the village. The mountain and its forests provide many areas for leisurely or more vigorous walks, mountain biking and rock climbing is also popular in this area.
