Natura 2000 Regime In Bulgaria Less Restrictive Than Other Protective Measures 12/03/2008
The regime for the carrying out of investment projects in Natura 2000 protected areas was much less restrictive than the measures valid for national parks and preserves, head of the parliamentary environment and water affairs committee Georgi Bozhinov said. Bozhinov and Parliament speaker Georgi Pirinski met on January 23 representatives of environmental organisations demanding maximum inclusion in the European environmental network. All national parks would become part of Natura 2000, said Bozhinov. Investors had no reason to protest against the introduction of the network, said Bozhinov. Mall Varna Changes Hands 17/11/2008
Scottish property group Miller Developments is the new owner of Mall Varna, foreign media reported on November 16 2006.The deal was sealed for 120 million euro, and according to the Sunday Herald, this is the group's biggest property transaction in continental Europe. Keith Miller, chief executive of the Miller Group has been quoted as saying that with this acquisition, Bulgaria becomes one of the eight countries in which the company is operating outside the UK.Mall Varna opened in June 2008 and it is the largest new retail and leisure development in Bulgaria, spreading on 33000 sq m and housing 150 shops. Eu Accession Increases Residential Property Prices In Bulgaria 11/03/2008
The price increase of residential property in Bulgaria after the country’s EU accession is sufficiently higher than expected, research ordered by investor.bg showed. The price hike concerns both old and new construction in Sofia and in other bigger cities and towns. The prices per sq m went up three to 12 per cent in Sofia’s residential disitrcts of Lyulin, Mladost and Nadezhda. In some parts of the residential districts, prices wend down by four to five per cent. The growth difference was attributed to the willingness of some property owners to sell their apartments at much higher prices than the normal values. Prices Of Real Estate In Bulgaria Remain Stable According To A British Company 27/11/2008
The price of real estate in Bulgaria for now remains stable, despite the record decrease on a global scale for the last quarter, caused by the financial crisis.These are the results of a survey of the British real estate consulting company "Knight Frank".Great Britain, which marks a decrease of real estate prices of 4.6 percent for the last quarter, is one of the worst affected countries along with Latvia, Norway and Canada. Varna And Burgas Airports Leaders For Fraport Group 23/04/2008
In the first three months of 2008, the airports govern by Fraport Group had serviced over 16 million people, or with 4,4% more than the previous period. Due to the loading during the Easter holidays, the tourism destinations towards South and South Eastern Europe, along with the North Africa ones, marked strong increase in the last month. The road traffic at the airports managed by Fraport Group had increased considerably in March. The biggest growth was marked by the two vacancy airports on local coast.
