The village of Gurkovo is a good class, and an average size. It and has all the necessary amenities including a town hall, post office, and two grocery shops. There is also a typical Byzantine church in the village centre. There is a bus service from Gurkovo in to Balchik, from where there are regular buses into the magnificent city of Varna. The bus stop is in the centre of Gurkovo, which is just a five or six minutes walk from, the house.
