Soon the Sofia Airport-West will be officially open for passengers. It is located near the Radomir's village - Kondorfej, about 60 km from Sofia and in immediate vicinity of the Struma Motorway.

The Airport was officially inaugurated in June this year, but now it can land only cargo flights. Soon will be completed passenger and VIP Terminals.

It is expected that the former military airport will adopt not only Charter flights, but also to become the Mecca of low cost airlines flying from and to Bulgaria.

The sixth International Airport will serve Sofia, winter resorts and even Northern Greece.

It is envisaged on the 2.5-kilometer runway to land and heavy passenger aircraft of the type Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.

There are predictions that private airport in Kondorfej would become serious competition to state Airport - Sofia in terms of low-cost flights, with what is possible to be lowered the prices of airline tickets.

A major boost for tourism in Bulgaria is expected to give Pirin airport near Gotce Delchev's village of Musomica, which must open for travellers for the winter season 2015-2016.

"The airport for skiers" will also use the track of the old military airport, and the investment of the new owners would be worth 20 million euro. Pirin airport will serve mainly Charter flights for the ski resorts of Bansko, Dobrinishte and as well as the spa centers in Pirin.

The capacity of the airport will be for at least 1500 flights and 100 000 passengers a year.

The specialists expect the completion of the two projects to stimulate significant foreign tourism in Bulgaria and the native economy, and to be open nearly 2,000 job places.
