Nearly 100 Million Leva Invested In Third Mall In Bulgarias Rousse 11/03/2008
A sports and entertainment hall with a trade and service centre is to be built in the city of Rousse. The project included the construction of a multi-functional hall and mall with shops, offices and a hotel, investor.bg reported. The sports hall alone will cover a built-up area of nearly 24 530 sq m. The mall, the hotel and the underground parking will total 72 300 sq m. The project will be completed within two years. It is the third mall to be constructed in Rousse. Its estimated worth is 99.6 million leva. The main shareholders in Project Rousse Ltd are Rousse municipality and Mall Rousse Invest Ltd. more

Bansko Attracts German Investors 15/03/2008
German business has professed an interest in the development of Bansko, said the German ambassador to Bulgaria, Michael Gayer, during his visit to the resort town. He was accompanied by a 12-member delegation from the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, headed by its president Bertram Rollman. The German ambassador pledged his support for future contacts between Bansko and similar German towns. He expressed his hope that, in the future, businessmen from Bansko would team up with German companies to apply jointly for common projects in infrastructure and culture exchange areas. "Our objective is to attract resources from EU funds to the region," Bansko mayor Alexander Kravarov said. more

Tourism Strategy Finalised Kroushkova 05/04/2008
The tourism strategy is finalised and is now being discussed by the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment and Water Affairs, the head of the State Tourism Agency Anelia Kroushkova told a news conference, as quoted by Dnevnik daily. The strategy needs to get the nod from all ministries, then put to a vote from the Government. The process is expected to take several months. The blueprint forecasts a revenue increase of 20 per cent in each of the years through 2013. Tourism industry players believe this growth rate is unrealistic. Final touches to the strategy concerned the way and opportunities to absorb EU funds through the environment ministry, Kroushkova said. Us Company To Work On Mall In Bulgarias Bourgas 14/03/2008
US company Laguarda.Low Architects LLC would work on the plans for the building of Mall-Bourgas. Investors GIR-2 and project consultant Colliers International announced the selection on July 27. The two companies would have the final decision in the development of the mall concept, mediapool.bg reported. The US company specialised in the planning of various trade and entertainment centres. Mall-Bourgas would be located in the centre of the city and should be opened in the end of 2008, mediapool.bg reported. The project is worth nearly 30 million euro. The total area of the mall reached 65 000 sq m, including underground trade areas, entertainment facilities, office spaces and a hotel. Construction In Sunny Beach Will Cease On May 15 30/04/2008
Construction in the Slunchev bryag (Sunny Beach) coastal resort could not be halted on May 1, Focus news agency said. Recently, the union of hotel owners in the resort demanded that heavy construction equipment be removed from the complex before May 1 because the first tourists are due to arrive at the beginning of the month. However, Bourgas Deputy regional governor Georgi Nikolchev said that, according to the law for the Black Sea coast, construction must finish by May 15. Nevertheless, Nikolchev had sent letters to the municipalities in the Bourgas region to start taking out the heavy equipment from resorts to give them a more welcoming image. more
