Money For Tourism And Ecology 03/06/2008
Bulgaria's Ministry of Environment and Waters support the tourism in the context of nature protection through observing of all environmental norms. This was stated by Minister Djevdet Chakurov at the second national conference ‘Money for Tourism and Ecology' that takes place in Sofia. According to the Minister on 'Environment' operative program had been allocated a financial frame on the amount of 1,800 million EUR. Priority for the eco-ministry is building of purifying stations for waste waters all over the Black sea coast. Round 167 municipalities had applied for such projects and the total amount of the declared projects in the water sector is 500 million EUR. The Minister highlighted that more efforts must be put in the separately waste collecting. more

Bulgaria To Remove Limitations To Foreigner Property Purchase 12/03/2008
The Parliament was considering a move from forbidding foreigners to own property in the country to some special regulations. Changes feature in ownership regulations, discussed on first reading on December 7. Voting on the new laws would take place on December 8, Bulgarian National Radio reported. Such changes were needed because of Bulgaria's upcoming EU entry. The country accepted EU requirements for the free movement of capital. Foreigners will be allowed to purchase property in Bulgaria, following international contracts. This would guarantee the opening of Bulgaria's property market upon the country's EU entry, the national radio said. Bulgaria is going to introduce a new term 'citizen of EU member state' to replace the term 'foreigner' used... more

Russian holding Etalon-Len-Spets SMU (ELS), specialising primarily in residential construction, started its international expansion through a 30 million-dollar investment in a housing complex in Bulgaria, Property Xpress reported. The holding’s first project beyond Russia envisages the development of a luxury condominium near the Black Sea resort of Zlatni Pyassutsi (Golden Sands).Finance will be secured through foreign non-Russian banks. The gross actual area of the complex is projected to be 22 000 sq m. Apart from residential buildings, it will also embrace parking grounds and green areas. Most of the Bulgarians don't think that is possible Bulgaria to offer quality product in the sphere of boutique tourism, says data of a poll taken by Econ.bg and leaded by the end of March this year. Round 30% of the asked Bulgarians respond negatively to the question is it possible to exist boutique tourism in Bulgaria. They believe that the common public-economy condition of the state will prevent this business. Other 28% declared that is impossible for the boutique tourism to survive due to the lack of experience in servicing solvency tourists. Less than 40% of the required are positive for such kind of tourism. Almost 25% believe that there is a chance for Bulgaria to manage with the requirements of the high-class tourism, if the state is trying hardly to support the... more
