Bulgaria To Welcome 100 000 Danish Tourists In 2008 - Sofia News Agency 25/04/2008
The number of Danish tourists visiting Bulgaria is going to reach 100 000 in 2008. The prediction was made by the Danish Ambassador to Bulgaria Kaare E. Janson in the Black Sea city of Varna. His Excellency participated at a ceremony inaugurating the new Denmark's honorary consul to Varna Konstantin Daradanov, which took place in the Evksinograd Residence of the Bulgarian government. Janson pointed out that safety was the main requirement of the Danish tourists. In his words, the safety issue would be one of the main topics of the coming meeting of Bulgarian Foreign Ministry officials with the Ambassadors of the Scandinavian states. Residential Property Prices In Bulgarias Capital Most Expensive In Iztok Complex 12/03/2008
Residential property prices in Sofia saw the highest increase in the Iztok borough for the first six months of 2007. According to Colliers International consultancy agency, prices in the Iztok residential complex went up by 29 per cent in the first six months of 2007, investor.bg reported. The increase on an annual base was 51 per cent. As a result Iztok, became the second most-expensive residential district in Sofia after Doktorska Gradina, where the prices went up by 19 per cent over the fisrt six months of 2007, and by 13 per cent compared with the same period of 2006. The average residential purchase price in Iztok reached 1450 euro a sq m in the first six months of 2007, compared with slightly below 2000 euro a sq m in Doktorska Gradina (Doctors' Garden).... more

Bulgarian Defence Ministry Halts Property Swops - Sophia Echo 30/04/2008
Bulgaria’s recently-appointed Defence Minister Nikolai Tsonev has ordered a halt to the practice of swopping real estate owned by the ministry, an April 29 2008 media statement said. The ministry's website said that the ministry would investigate the status of all the ministry’s structures and real estate owned by them. Tsonev succeeded Vesselin Bliznakov on April 22 2008. Bulgarian-language media said at the time that one reason that Bliznakov was dismissed was alleged lack of transparency in transactions involving defence ministry real estate. Prime Minister  Sergei Stanishev gave no reason in public why Bliznakov was replaced, but media reports in the past 18 months have given an unfavourable impression of Bliznakov and the swop deals. Belgian Firm To Invest 120m Euro In Bulgaria Report 17/03/2008
Belgian company Etex Group plans to invest more than 120 million euro in Bulgaria, Pari daily reported on March 17. Initially, the firm will pour 20 million euro in developing a large warehouse for building materials and the next phase envisages the construction of a 100 million euro plant. Wind Parks To Be Constructed Round Shabla (northern Seaside) 26/03/2008
An extension of the territory, previewed for installation of wind-generators impends in Shabla municipality (Northern East Bulgaria), money.bg announced. The decision is prompted by the big interest of investors in this sphere, the Municipality Council Zdravko Jordanov said. Less than 10 wind generators have been installed to the moment, despite proposals for more than 100 of them have been approved by the local authorities. How much new territory is needed for the production of eco-energy will become clear in 5-6 months. more
